Dilapidated
buildings and traditional practices are evidence of Portugal's poor economic
status when compared to its Western European neighbours. But they also provide
an insight into the nation's wealth of tradition, history and culture. At
a time when enormous change is imminent, it gave me great pleasure to record
the beauty I saw in the country's faded grandeur, way of life and landscape. |
